Note: minor buckling associated with the original. This painting was inspired by a bonefish trip to Acklins Island in the southern Bahamas. Our guide took us to a magical spot where a small creek connected to a broader flat. A single casuarina tree stood sentinel over the creek mouth. It was a greasy-calm day, the tide rising, and bonefish were intent on reaching the mangroves inside the creek. All we had to do was set up position near that casuarina and the bones would approach, sometimes in large schools, sometimes in singles and doubles.
